Cherries pick up Seaborne

Seaborne: Off to Dean Court

The 25-year-old, who was on the Saints' bench against Chelsea in the 2-2 draw on Wednesday night, began his career at Exeter before moving to St Mary's.

He spent time with Championship club Charlton this season, where he made seven appearances - the last of which came on Boxing Day.

"Dan is a player we have always liked and we have been aware of him since his days at Exeter," Eddie Howe told the Daily Echo.

"He is a left-sided defender, he is very experienced and is a leader. He is composed on the ball and good in the air and has all the attributes that we look for in a player.

"We certainly feel we need defensive cover and he can operate at left-back as well. It is a signing that boosts our numbers defensively and adds competition for the squad."

Seaborne trained with Bournemouth on Thursday and could come into the squad for their trip to Walsall on Saturday.
